Here is Georgia's seascape after working in it a little more. I really like the adjustments she's made. Inparticular I think she did a fantastic job of giving the featured wave a sense of volume and energy with the breaking part of the wave in the middle distance adding a nice dynamic.
Georgia this is looking great. I like that you've really developed a nice angle into the painting with the surf line. The color is fantastic. I really like how you've pushed the far hills into the background utilizing cooler colors and softer edges. I think that the color in the foreground area is fantastic. You mentioned lightening up the sand in the front. I feel that the value is really close to your reference photo and works to set up the light colors of the surf line. This could be done now and be a successful painting.
If you'd like to consider pushing this a bit further here are a few things I might look at:
1. As I said the surf line is really nice and leads us into the piece. The question is then what would you'd like the primary focal point to be.
2. It seems to me that this may be the area of focus, leading into the area of the near rocks in the photo is an interesting area to focus on. That bigger wave has a great shape and color. Look at the roll of the wave and the face of the wave towards the side of the beach as a plane.
3. As we discussed a few weeks ago you might want to buff up the size to create more dynamic scale and shape relationships.
4. Maybe increase size of trees here.
5. The top plane here is slightly darker than the planes beyond it.
6. The color of the beach here looks good.
7. Again, I might make this grouping of trees a bit bigger.
8. Look at the parallel white marks in this area and maybe eliminate one and vary the rhythm of those remaining.
9. Maybe add a few of the offshore rocks.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next.
